"We had a real need for the expansion of the Performance Contracting legislation to include water and wastewater solutions. This bill might have been lost in the shuffle had it not been for the dedication and commitment of HCG to our objective. Fortunately, the bill was signed into law and we are able to provide these effective services to our clients."
Joel Lowery Solutions General Manager Johnson Controls, Inc.
In the 2004 legislative session, Hodges Consulting Group successfully lobbied the legislature for the passage of H 5020. This bill expands Guaranteed Energy Savings Contracts, also known as Performance Contracting, to include water and wastewater solutions. Our client, Johnson Controls (a Fortune 100 company), can offer local governments options to improve efficiency and save money in their utility programs.
"South Carolinians should be proud that their state ranks third nationwide in the number of teachers who have achieved National Board Certification. We are grateful to HCG for its hard work to ensure that the salary supplement awarded to teachers who achieve this prestigious credential remains in place. A quality education begins with quality teaching and the National Board Certification initiative will raise the level of student success throughout the state."
Dr. Joe Aguerreberre President and CEO National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
Improving public education remains a top priority in South Carolina. Citizens should be proud of ranking third in the nation for Nationally Board Certified Teacher achievement. This great accomplishment is due in part to the salary incentive awarded for achievement by the S.C. General Assembly. However, during these tough budget challenges, the continued funding of this reward is vulnerable.
Hodges Consulting Group worked with key members of the legislature to make sure that the salary incentive for successful completion of the board remained in the 2004-2005 General Appropriations Bill.
