Palmetto Champions All-Star Winners

Columbia, S.C. - The South Carolina Football Coaches Association (SCFCA) announced the Palmetto Champions All-Star overall winners at a banquet on Thursday, November 30.

"Tonight's banquet was made possible through the support of our sponsors Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Founders Federal Credit Union, and Verizon Wireless," said Coach Greg Crolley, SCFCA Board. "On behalf of the SCFCA, I congratulate our overall winners and all of our honorees for their excellent performance this football season."

The SCFCA overall winners are:

Verizon Wireless Coach of the Year

Coach Phil Strickland, Gaffney

* 14-0 record this season and will play for the AAAA Division 1 State Championship

* A victory will be the Indians third state championship in the last four seasons

* His career record is 216-55

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated Back of the Year

Willy Korn, Byrnes

* A Shrine Bowl pick and Clemson commitment, Korn led the Rebels to State Championships in 2003, 2004, and 2005.

* His statistics for 2006 are Rushing 150 attempts, 578 yards and 13 touchdowns. Passing 253 completions in 379 attempts for 3453 yards, 10 interceptions and 39 touchdowns.

Verizon Wireless Lineman of the Year

Stanley Hunter, Byrnes

* Stanley will be a Shrine Bowler and Clemson Tiger in 2007

* His statistics through 9 Games this year are 40 Solo Tackles, 38 Assists, 12 QB Sacks, 18 Tackles for Loss, 27 QB Pressures, 6 Pass Breakups, and 3 Fumble Recoveries

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated Specialty Team Player of the Year

Brandon Berry, Blackville Hilda

* This Shrine Bowl selectee scored 57 points on 36 PAT's and 7 field goals this season

* Other statistics include 18 kickoffs were touchbacks, 31.5 Yard Punting Average

Founders Federal Credit Union Distinguished Service Awards

Dale Evans - University of South Carolina and Dorman High School (retired)

Bobby Miller - Summerville High School and North/South All Star Football Game
