Board of Directors Spotlight: Jim Hodges
Jim Hodges, governor of South Carolina from 1999-2003, was elected to the Board of Directors at the 2007 Park City Policy Institute. Governor Hodges has worked extensively with the Park City Center, most notably serving as the Chair for the Governors Board as well as serving on the State Healthcare Finance advisory board in preparation for the inaugural Park City Policy Institute featuring Marty Sellers, Bill Shiebler, Scott Williams, Michael Stapley, and Hodges.
As a member of our board of directors, Governor Hodges has been instrumental in driving our 2008 agenda, including the Defending Cyberspace conference. He is a national leader in economic development, state government budget and public education policy issues. He is also a national co-chair of the Obama for President campaign.
Governor Hodges advises a broad array of clients across the nation. He is the CEO of Hodges Consulting and a partner in Charlotte-based law firm Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman L.L.P. Governor Hodges served 11 years in the South Carolina House of Representatives (1986-1997) where he chaired the chamber's Judiciary Committee. He also served as minority leader. He served as Governor from 1999 to 2003. During his tenure, the State of South Carolina passed an education lottery, achieved record levels of economic development, led the nation in SAT improvement, and initiated an innovative state-based prescription drug program for seniors.
Governor Hodges is a great asset to Park City Center and we look forward to his continued involvement and impact on our organization.
