Hodges Touted as Candidate for DNC Chairmanship

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Various news publications have touted former S.C. Governor Jim Hodges as a likely candidate for the Democratic National Committee Chairmanship. The position will be vacated in February 2005 by chairman Terry McAuliffe, who is not seeking another term.

In an Associated Press story which ran in The State on November 24, 2004, Hodges said he had been contacted about seeking the position and would consider the possibility and decide in the next few weeks.
